This month, we are proud to recognize Jose Ruiz as our Champion of Safety & Quality. Nominated by Project Manager Daniel Keyser, Jose’s leadership as Foreman on the Loyola Donnelly Science Center Renovation and Addition project set a clear standard for excellence in the field.
Managing a Complex Scope
Jose took ownership of an exceptionally complex scope and managed it with precision and confidence. His responsibilities included curtain wall installation, composite panel elevations, vertical sunshades, glass guardrails, interior storefront systems, fire rated glazing, and aluminum doors with fully coordinated hardware installation. Each element required careful sequencing, coordination, and attention to detail.
Solving Challenges in the Field
Beyond managing the scope, Jose consistently stepped in to resolve challenges as they arose. He coordinated with specialty trades, addressed door and hardware issues on adjacent buildings, supported fire exit modifications, and guided the project through two hose tests and one chamber test with no water on the horizontals. His proactive approach kept the project moving safely and efficiently.

Setting the Standard
Jose’s attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to safety were evident throughout the project. His leadership reflects the values we expect on every jobsite and reinforces the importance of doing the work right.
We are proud to recognize Jose Ruiz as this month’s well-deserved Champion of Safety & Quality and appreciate the impact he continues to make across our projects.
