Chesapeake Glazing’s Champion of Safety & Quality Award recognizes team members who demonstrate the attention, accountability, and care that help keep our work moving safely and correctly.
This month, that recognition is especially meaningful. For the first time, the award has been presented to one of our apprentices.
Congratulations to Matt Greaver on earning this month’s Champion of Safety & Quality Award.
While reviewing drawings, Matt noticed an issue that could have potentially made its way into the field. Instead of letting it go unnoticed, he brought it forward right away. Because Matt spoke up, the drawings were corrected before installation, preventing a possible field issue before it ever became one.
That kind of awareness matters on every project. What makes this recognition even more impressive is that Matt is still early in his apprenticeship journey.
To recognize a detail, understand its potential impact, and have the confidence to speak up says a lot about Matt’s attention to quality, knowledge retention, and growing understanding of the trade. It also says a lot about his character and work ethic.
At Chesapeake Glazing, safety and quality are built through the everyday decisions our team makes. They show up in preparation, communication, accountability, and the willingness to speak up when something needs attention.
Matt’s recognition is a great example of the culture we are continuing to build, where every member of the team plays a role in helping work get done the right way.
We are proud to recognize Matt for this achievement and look forward to seeing his continued growth throughout his apprenticeship.
