‘Clear Feedback’: Sheppard Pratt Health Systems Throwback

We’re taking a look back at our work on the Sheppard Pratt Health Systems building in Towson, Maryland, completed in partnership with CannonDesign and Lewis Contractors.

At Chesapeake Glazing, every project tells a story built on collaboration, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence. Our Project Throwback series looks back at the projects that helped define who we are today, beginning with one that perfectly represents our values: Sheppard Pratt Health Systems in Towson, Maryland.

In partnership with CannonDesign and Lewis Contractors, Chesapeake Glazing contributed to the development of this behavioral health facility by delivering a façade system that balances patient safety, performance, and design intent.

Precision, Safety, and Design Working Together

The Sheppard Pratt project required glazing systems that could meet the unique demands of a healthcare environment. Each component had to deliver both durability and comfort while maintaining an atmosphere that supports healing and security.

Collaboration That Defines Success

Successful outcomes depend on strong partnerships and clear communication. From preconstruction through closeout, Chesapeake Glazing worked collaboratively with Lewis Contractors and CannonDesign to anticipate challenges and ensure precise execution.

That proactive, solution-oriented mindset was recognized by Joe Bailey, Vice President of Operations at Lewis Contractors, who shared the following reflection on the project:

“On the Sheppard Pratt project, Chesapeake Glazing came to the table with a positive, team-oriented attitude, quickly establishing themselves as a trusted partner. Their field and office teams analyzed the Contract Documents ahead of time to proactively identify any constructability issues or construction problems before they occurred. Chesapeake Glazing communicated well, were flexible with sequencing changes, and proved to be good problem-solving partners. The completion of the project resulted in a beautiful glazing package and a happy client.”

The Sheppard Pratt Health Systems project remains a testament to what is possible when collaboration, preparation, and craftsmanship come together to achieve excellence.
